4 DRAWER DRESSER - PURCHASED AT AUCTION 9-25-2016

Dresser in home of previous owner

  As presented at the auction, the dresser was part of a set.  So I asked the auctioneer if he could sell choices, so he did.

SOME STRUCTURAL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE GLUED, SOME DRAWER BOTTOMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, DRAWER STOPS MISSING ON THE BOTTOM DRAWER.

Upside down - fixing the mortise and tenon joint at the bottom back.

Repairs to drawers

DRESSER WAS STRIPPED, THEN LIGHTLY SANDED, THEN STAINED WITH OLD MASTERS GEL STAIN, THEN SANDED with 400 wet and dry sandpaper. 

The dresser will be finished with FOUR COATS OF TUNG OIL.

So here goes with the Old Master's GEL STAIN

Now its ready for the first coat of tung oil

Four coats of tung oil later...

Added supports behind the molding at the bottom of the dresser, reinstalled the handles, and waxed the runners with paraffin.
